Our cadets swapped dry land for the water on Sunday as they enjoyed an action-packed paddle boarding session in the glorious sunshine.
Before heading out onto the lake, cadets were introduced to the fundamentals of paddle boarding, learning how to balance, manoeuvre safely and make the most of their boards and paddles. With confidence growing throughout the day, it wasn't long before everyone was standing tall and putting their newly acquired skills into practice.
Once the basics had been mastered, the session moved on to a range of fun challenges and games designed to test balance, teamwork and control. There was plenty of laughter as cadets competed against one another whilst developing their confidence on the water.
With temperatures climbing throughout the day, it was perhaps inevitable that a few cadets — and even one or two members of staff — found themselves enjoying a refreshing dip in the lake! 🌊😄

Adventure Training activities such as paddle boarding are a fantastic way for cadets to challenge themselves, develop resilience, build teamwork skills and gain confidence in a new environment, all while having an unforgettable experience.
At 1051 (Dartford) Squadron, we're proud to offer opportunities like this that take learning beyond the classroom and give our cadets experiences they'll remember for years to come. We can't wait to get back on the water again soon!
