Cadets and staff from 1051 (Dartford) Squadron proudly took part in the Dartford Armed Forces Day Parade and Service at St Michael and All Angels Church on Saturday, joining members of the local community, veterans, serving personnel and fellow cadets in recognising the dedication and sacrifice of the United Kingdom's Armed Forces.
The Squadron was honoured to parade alongside our friends from Dartford and Crayford Sea Cadets, demonstrating the strong partnership that exists between the local cadet forces. Throughout the event, our cadets displayed the professionalism, discipline and respect that are synonymous with the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, representing both the Squadron and the organisation with pride.
A particularly proud moment for 1051 Squadron came during the service when Sergeant Benjamin Kinderman was formally appointed as the Mayor's Cadet by the Mayor of Dartford. The appointment recognises his outstanding commitment, leadership and service to the Squadron and the wider community.
As Mayor's Cadet, Sergeant Kinderman will support the Mayor throughout the civic year, attending a variety of official engagements and representing both 1051 Squadron and the Royal Air Force Air Cadets at community events across the borough.
Officer Commanding, Flight Lieutenant Kayleigh Archer RAFAC, said:
"Armed Forces Day is an important opportunity to recognise the dedication of those who serve, both past and present. I was incredibly proud to see our cadets representing the Squadron with such professionalism and respect throughout the day. Sergeant Kinderman's appointment as Mayor's Cadet is thoroughly deserved and reflects the hard work, commitment and leadership he has consistently demonstrated. We wish him every success in this prestigious role."
Congratulations to Sergeant Kinderman on this fantastic achievement, and well done to every cadet who attended and represented 1051 (Dartford) Squadron with distinction.
